Dressing 'Old'

A question of undeniable complexiety recently came to me as i urinated in the toilets of Soar Point as recently as last week. Not a problem in any way connected to the fact i was urinating, but one that seemed to be prompted in my mind upon doing so.
And the predicament was thus:

When we grow older i believe there are two ways in which our dress code may swing;

a. We will dress as old people do now, perhaps caring slightly less about fashion, and more about the practicalities in clothing i.e the price, and does it keep me warm???

or

b. Will we continue to dress as we do now, take our own personal styles, and the styles of our generation to a certain extent, with us to be perhaps classed as 'old' by the young children of that day and age?

A conundrum i'm sure you'll all agree, an answer to this puzzle would be most appreciated

  1. That's an interesting conundrum. I mean, we see our parents right now, and if they dress like we do we're embarrased, aren't we? Isn't this question you're posing an extension of that fact? Wouldn't we be embarrased by our own lack of caring, because, honestly, fashion now is wholly different to what it could be in the future, isn't it? I mean, in the future people could be wearing liquid nylon, plexi-wool and all these creations we've yet to discover.

    Wouldn't we just be embarrasing in our retro-cool jeans and shirts??

  2. I totally agree with you here. As cool as we might tink we are right now and as fashionable as we may be, our kids will definately look at us with sheer embarassment and say "mum/dad, you're not really going to wear that are you!!"
